How The Quality Of Your Washrooms May Affect Your Businesses Success

Whether starting a new business or managing one that has been running for years, washrooms are often an afterthought that doesn’t get the amount of attention it deserves. Many washrooms remain low quality and undesirable to customers and staff. The consequences of this can be great even if the connection to the washroom experience isn’t known. Below we will explore how poor washroom experiences may have a negative impact on your business.

Lower customer satisfaction is one reason why you should make an effort to improve your washrooms. When someone visits your facilities and deems it to be low quality, dirty or mismanaged, they make assumptions about the business as a whole. A bad washroom experience can also lead customers to avoid your establishment in the future. In the long run this can lead to lower profits and a bad image in the local community.

The second reason you should pay more attention to your washrooms is to improve employee satisfaction. A good washroom stocked with high quality facilities is one way to show your employees that you care about their well being. Bad washrooms do the opposite. They can lead staff to feel like they are not valued which can lead to higher staff turnover and the associated costs. One way that you can achieve greater washroom satisfaction is by installing an air freshener.

Lastly, better washroom facilities can lead to a reduction in illness. Unhygienic washrooms are a breeding ground for germs, bacteria and viruses that can make your staff and customers sick. You should always be making sure that your soap dispensers are full and that there are facilities to dry their hands. Adding additional facilities such as toilet seat cleaners and hand sanitisers can add an extra level of defence.
