Waterless Urinal Maintenance

There has been a big switch to waterless urinals in recent years and its easy to see why. Not only does it save costs, they are also better for the environment because they don’t waste water. New technologies mean that they can be just as hygienic and clean as their flushing counterparts. But how do you maintain them?

Sanokil’s waterless Urinal Eco-Mats are a must to keep waterless urinals smelling clean and fresh. When the urinal is used the Eco-Mats releases a solution that works against organic material to break down the substances that cause build up and smells. The chemicals are environmentally friendly and don’t harm your plumbing. Waterless urinal mats will last between our services to help keep your urinals in good shape.

The fact that waterless urinals are often dry when not in also results in less bacteria growth and odour. However, some general maintenance is still required even with the urinal mats. Every once in a while you should do the following.

  • Put on gloves.
  • Remove any foreign objects form the urinal.
  • Using non abrasive chemicals or brushes, wipe down the outside and then the inside of the urinal.
  • Spray the inside of the urinal with a surface cleaner – ideally one that works against organic material. Allow it to sit for some time.
  • Wipe clean with a cloth or sponge.

You should also look to the urinal manufacturers instructions for guidance on cleaning the traps and seals.

1. The free on loan dispensers will remain at all times the property of Sanokil.

2. The Customer will use these dispensers solely for the purposes of dispensing Livi® products supplied by Sanokil for a minimum period of 2 years.

3. The customer is required to place a minimum of one order every 3 months.

4. Should a breach of this agreement by the customer occur, the customer will either:

a) Return the dispensers to Sanokil and bear any costs incurred with removing and returning the dispensers to Sanokil, including returning the customers property (e.g. walls, benches) to its original condition.

b) Purchase the dispensers from Sanokil for the value specified above.

5. Sanokil will replace free of charge any dispensers which are faulty, unless these have been maliciously damaged after installation.

6. The customer (end-user) must personally sign the Dispenser Supply Agreement.
