Hand Sanitisers are being made readily available and are being used as effective germ killers instead of constant hand washing, reducing the amount of water, soap and towel required.
Low energy and cold air hand dryers are being used as a green alternative to paper towels. The towels have to be manufactured, transported and when used, placed in a rubbish bin and the rubbish disposed of in land fill – an interesting argument against the amount of energy required to run the drier.
The use of steam cleaning instead of chemical cleaning is an interesting initiative. Steam cleaning used very little water, no chemicals and has sanitizing qualities. Whether we realise it or not we are green cleaning and it will only increase as society insists that we support a green future.
